Church Staff

Our Staff Welcomes You

Pastor Barb Lemke, Pastor

Pastor Lemke has been at Bethel since August of 2000.  Graduating from Wartburg Seminary in May of 1984, she received her first call to Shepherd of the Hills in Fort Collins.  She served from 1990 to 1999 at Joy Lutheran in Parker with her husband Pastor Mike Lemke.    In 2003, she received her Doctor of Ministry from Philips Theological Seminary with an emphasis in prayer and the ministry of the laity. One of her favorite things to do is to play her guitar for preschool chapel.  She loves to share God’s love and word with the children.  It’s easy to know that God is the center of her life, just look at her enthusiasm and bright smile.

Brigette Weier, Intern Pastor

We are pleased to have Brigette Weier as our Intern Pastor. She joined Bethel in August of 2010. Her internship situation is a bit different from others in that Brigette will be with us for two years, part-time, instead of one year, full-time. She will be in school at the same time that she is our intern. This creates a wonderful experience for both Bethel and Brigette, as we will have continuity in our ministry for two years as opposed to one. Please welcome Brigette as she preaches, teaches, and joins us in ministry.

Donna Hudson, Secretary

Donna has been at Bethel since October, 2003.  She was born and raised in the Denver area.  Donna and Larry have two daughters and three grandsons.  She is a delightful office worker and has the ability to welcome each person with warmth, grace and hospitality.

Megan Buness, Choir Director

Megan is delighted to conduct Bethel’s Adult Church Choir.  Ms. Buness has a B.A. in Vocal Music from St. Olaf College and Masters in Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Denver.  She has led college, high school and church choirs and is on the music faculty at Metropolitan State College and the Community College of Denver.

Megan’s choral performances included tours with the renowned St. Olaf Choir, singing at Carnegie Hall and the Lincoln Center, and with the St. Olaf alumni choir Magnum Chorum at the American Choral Directors Association national convention.  She continues to sing in choral, opera and recital performances.

Liudmila Startsev, Organist/Pianist

Mila was born in Kurgan, Russia; living there until a year ago when she moved to the United States with her children. With all her Masters Degrees in Music, she has accumulated 17 years of musical education. She says music not only helps her adjust to a new country, but also is an international language to communicate with others. She has a wonderful talent and we are very happy to have her here at Bethel.

Linda Grimm, Children’s Choir Director

Linda is a long time member of Bethel and has been directing the Children’s choir for since 1991. She recently retired  after years of working with the special needs children at Aurora Public Schools (Physical Therapist). She was certified in Music and Movement through High Scope in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Other music endeavors include: singing in the adult choir, and continued  weekly instruction on the piano, harpsichord and accordion.

Kim Baumert, Bell Choir Director

Kim loves music and loves to hear the bells playing. She was baptized, confirmed and married at Bethel.  When she returned from Oklahoma she rejoined and began the Youth Bell Choir.  Mrs.Baumert was a member of the Bell Choir as a child and it was the start of her musical love.  A vocalist, pianist, cellist and bell choir member, Mrs. Baumert adds Bell Choir Director to her musical journey.  We at Bethel are so grateful for her energy with and vision for the Youth Bell Choir.
